Over the past few months, I’ve had numerous people compliment my skin and ask me what I’m using. And no, I’m not about to try and sell you an expensive line of products (although I’m sure those lines are awesome, but I’ve actually never tried any them). What I am going to do is let you in on a little secret. My favorite skin-care essential costs $5 and you can buy it at the grocery store. Ready for it?
It’s pure almond oil. Made from real almonds. Sweet almond oil to be exact. It smells like almonds. It’s natural. It’s probably the most useful beauty item ever. And I actually stumbled on its use by accident. Last year, I got a huge shipment of vitamins for a blog campaign, and there was a bottle of sweet almond oil included. At first I thought it was an essential oil for diffusing, so it sat in the pantry in the kitchen for months. But one day, I dug it out and read the label, noticing it could be used for the skin and hair. At that time, I had just run out of my normal face lotion, so I started putting it on my face at night, and next thing you know, I’m hooked. It’s so smooth and smells divine.
And although it gives your face a greasy glow, it’s so worth it! Dave actually laughs when I slather on a thick coating, because I’m super shiny until it soaks into the skin.
The almond oil most definitely must be making some sort of difference on my skin, because I’ve had tons of people randomly comment on my face while I’m out and about. And who doesn’t enjoy a good compliment from a stranger? When I tell those people that I’m not on some fancy regimen of products, but in fact, am essentially putting a common food on my face, they are shocked. I even got my Mom using it.
The many ways you can use almond oil
That’s why, I felt like it was finally time I share this tip with you. And by the way, almond oil is not just for the face, here’s what else you can use almond oil for …
- As a lotion on your face in the morning and evening
- As an eye make-up remover
- As a cuticle cream for your finger and toe nails
- As a body lotion
- As a frizz-tamer for your mane
- As a massage oil for sore muscles
- As a face wash
And it’s not just for ladies. Guys, you can benefit from almond oil as well. So where do you buy it? Usually in the vitamin section of the grocery store or online.
If you go to buy your own almond oil, make sure it’s pure with no additives. And beware, you just may get addicted! Have a fabulous and glowing day, my friends! Are you using this #essential #beauty item? Click To Tweet
