Hello, party people! Any big plans for the next couple of days? I’ve got about eight-million things to do, and none of them are exciting or worth reporting. But I will be kicking off the weekend with a date with a girlfriend in the City, and so it’s all good for me. Now, let’s chat favorites …
This week’s finds for “Favorite Things”
It’s the end of the week, so we’re keeping it light with the latest edition of a few of my favorite recent finds …
My favorite new workout wear of the week
It’s been a while since I’ve shared what I’ve been receiving in my monthly Fabletics activewear shipments. My latest delivery was all black again (I just can’t help myself), and featured some shiny capris and a loose sleeveless top. I’ve worn both items, and they fit and move quite well.
The McKinney Tee and the Salar Capris make for one swanky workout get-up. Am I right? And even better? This outfit costs less than $70 total.
If you’re into workout wear (or even comfortable street clothes, which Fabletics also has), you may be interested in this well-priced online brand. If you sign up as a VIP member, you will automatically get an email at the beginning of each month with a few suggested outfits. If you don’t want to order that month, you simply choose to “skip the month,” and you won’t be charged. It’s pretty convenient. Check out Fabletics today … (And if you do, thanks so much for using my referral link.)
My favorite arm candy of the week
I don’t know why, but something about charm bracelets makes me smile. They are just so whimsical. (Yes, I just used the word “whimsical.”) And boy do I have a cute one for you today. My friends at ShopStyle Collective and BaubleBar let me pick out not only a bracelet, but also some charms to adorn it, and I’m absolutely loving the finished product …
I selected the Halo Charm Bracelet with the Horseshoe, Pom Pom, Fortune Cookie, Gift Bow, Poodle (because dogs), Triad, and Heart charms for a variety of baubles. When I look back through the website, I already see there are a couple that I will most definitely need to add on, for instance this one and this one, because this Florida Girl went West. Perfection!
The closures on the charms are very easy to use, so you can mix and match your baubles with ease. In addition, the bracelet is a high-quality thick gold-plated material and comes with a protective bag and care instructions. Good stuff. I mean, talk about a great thing to buy for the next gift-giving holiday, Valentine’s Day, which is right around the corner. Just check out the BaubleBar “Build Your Own Bracelet” for some inspiration.
*Thanks to ShopStyle Collective and BaubleBar for partnering with me and providing the product in exchange for review.
My favorite self-care treat of the week
Massage on demand, people. That’s what I’m talking about. This past weekend, I had the awesome opportunity to welcome a talented massage therapist into my own home thanks to the Zeel service (I tried the service for the first time last year when living in my shoebox apartment in Nob Hill, which was good, but this time I had a whole extra room to devote to the service, which was even better). Zeel is an app, which lets you book a massage within an hour, any day of the week, nearly all day long. You can choose from a variety of massages, (deep tissue, Swedish, prenatal, couples, etc.) duration of the massage, and whether you want a male or a female licensed masseuse. They make it so easy for you throughout the entire process. While you can sign up as a member, you can also pay per massage, which starts at $99 each, with the tip included.
My friendly massage therapist showed up a few minutes before our meeting time, brought this foldable massage table, set up some light music, the scene and made my own empty guest-room seem like a spa. Well done.
I selected a deep-tissue massage and was super pleased with the one-hour service — my female therapist dug down into my sore muscles and did some work. The best thing about Zeel? After your service is complete, you don’t have to whip out your wallet, worry about calculating gratuity then driving or walking home. You’re already in your comfortables in your own place and your service has been prepaid by credit card through the app ahead of time. Now THAT is self care. Currently, Zeel is available in 10 major metro areas in the U.S. including Boston, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Denver, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Palm Springs, Miami, Palm Beach and Tampa with more coming soon. I definitely see this company taking off. Massages at home are a major treat.
*Promo code: If you want to try Zeel, use the code ALGW25 for $25 off your first service. And thanks to the Zeel service for giving me a complimentary massage.

Did you miss the latest on A Lady Goes West this week?
- Dates, workouts, dinner party and my weekly workouts
- Because change can be good (Thanks to all of you who texted, emailed, Tweeted, commented and shared this one. You guys are the best!)
And from around the web worth checking out …
- Portion control. Apparently it’s an important thing that people must do. I’ve never had much luck with it. That’s why this post from Amanda is totally eye-opening, because I’m guilty as charged. Check out “12 Healthy Foods You’re Overeating on Accident.” Yes. All of them.
- So I’m just blushing from this feature by my friend and fabulous lifestyle blogger, Caity, about me and my blog: “Bay Area Fitness: A Lady Goes West.”
