A fun weekend with visitors and my weekly workouts
Greetings, friends! I’m coming off of one really great weekend! My older brother and his girlfriend arrived on Friday morning and are staying until tomorrow. We’ve been all around the Bay Area soaking up the beautiful weather and activities over the past couple of days.
Here’s a quick overview, followed by my usual weekly workout recap. Check back later this week for the specifics on our adventures — because it was too much goodness to report in one post.
Friday …
The first event was a Warriors home game against the Celtics. Although the Warriors didn’t win (which is not something that happens very much for the team), we still had a great time — complete with running into a few friends and taking a picture on the floor before the game. My brother, Matthew, is a huge Warriors fan, so he was absolutely thrilled to attend a live game. And because Dave was working, I was happy to have Jill as my date.
Saturday …
This was a most wonderful day spent in Napa! We enjoyed every minute of our trip to wine country, complete with several wineries and explorations.
We got home around 5 p.m., each took a much-needed nap and then went to downtown Walnut Creek for a casual Mexican dinner at Maria Maria. Dinner included chips, guacamole, ahi tuna tacos and some cheesecake, as well as good conversation. Perfection.
That night after dinner, my brother’s girlfriend, Stephanie, introduced me to my new favorite Instagram account. Do yourself a favor and follow this one for a good pet-loving laugh.
Sunday …
After a relaxing morning at home (in which I had to take care of business, like prepping my food for the week and getting organized), we headed off to the city for a walking food tour of North Beach, followed by watching the Warriors game at a bar and some couch time in the evening. It was a delicious good time, and I’ll share more soon.
That pretty much sums up the weekend. Here’s to a great week!
My weekly fitness and workout recap
And now, here’s a look at all of my workouts from last week …

Weekly Workouts
- Monday: Taught a one-hour BODYATTACK class, foam rolling
- Tuesday: Did 30-minutes of weights
- Wednesday: Did 30 minutes of yoga, taught a one-hour BODYATTACK class
- Thursday: Did 30-minutes of weights
- Friday: Took a one-hour Vinyasa flow yoga class
- Saturday: Rest day
- Sunday: Rest day
How did this past week of workouts go?
This past week was light in the workout department. While I got in five days of work, two of those days were pretty short resistance sessions completed in the morning before work (hey, better than no resistance sessions!). I also finished up my month at CorePower Yoga this past week and took my last power flow class for a while on Friday morning, and wouldn’t you know it was the best of all the classes I took throughout the whole month. Overall, I felt good this past week and enjoyed team teaching BODYATTACK on Wednesday night for a special launch event and getting some extra cardio.
Enjoy your week, my friends, and I’ll see you later this week for a Napa recap, complete with recommendations!

Question of the day
What was the best part about your weekend?
I’ve always wanted to go to Napa! Sounds like such a fun weekend, it’s always nice having visitors. Have a great week!
I LOVE having visitors, and we’re lucky to have a few of them this spring. Hope your weekend was great in DC, lady!
You always look so, so polished and pretty, no matter where you are going or what you are doing. Your hair, your makeup, your outfit…..#beautygoals
Oh Courtney, you are too sweet and far too kind. 🙂 Thank you for saying that! I hope your weekend included some good times, lady! You deserve it!
I loved all of your Napa pics. One day I will get there! I am trying to decide if I want to fundraise and go for Team Challenge… I don’t know yet! Have a great week, Ashley!
You can fundraise to go to Napa? That’s awesome haha! But yes, I think you should visit — especially if you can run a race, then hit the wine. 🙂 Hope your weekend was great, Susie!
Looks like a fantastic weekend. You know I’m a huge Insta fan, so I’m pumped to check out your new recommendation. 🙂
Also, loving your jacket from Friday night. You go, fashionista!
Hi Jessica! So weird – I responded to this comment earlier and it doesn’t look like it came through. That jacket is super old and is from the Jessica Simpson line. 🙂
A food tour! I can’t wait to hear about that! The best part of my weekend was enjoying the time with the apartment to myself!
We all need some alone time, that’s for sure. Glad you got some, Hilary. 🙂
I love that you and your husband always take the weekend off to spend special time with each other!
We really try to! 🙂 The weekdays get so busy we hardly see each other! I hope you had a nice weekend, Emily. 🙂
This is seriously the perfect weekend! I’m so glad I saw you for like 5 minutes 😛 Let’s do something soon!! <3
Yes— so good to see you for a few and meet Danny!
Napa + ahi tuna tacos = a perfect Saturday in my book 🙂 Hope you have a wonderful week, Ashley!
You too, Anna!!
What a great looking weekend! We drove up (2 hours away) to our local ski ‘hill’ it’s big in terms of small ski hills, and my husband and all his family do an annual ski race that requires you to ski over a 70 foot pool, then whether you make it or not, you run through the ski village and your time is done when you chug a beer..lol…it’s always a great time and it was nice to catch up to family we don’t see often and they spoiled Sully rotten 😉 Mama may have enjoyed a few martini’s too
Oh my gosh- that sounds hilarious hehe!! How fun!!
I’m so glad you’re having such a great time. It’s always good to have family in town.
The wine tour looks and sounds amazing.
Wine country is always a good idea in my book. Yes, we had a great time!
What a great weekend–cant wait to hear more! Im always happy with a weekend full of family, good food, and good weather!
This weekend I got a lot done around the house and was able to spend some much needed quality couch time with my husband 🙂
You look gorgeous as always in these photos!
Thanks so much, Heather! You are sweet! And I’m glad you had a productive weekend. We all need that. 🙂
How fun!!! Love it when I get to spend time with my brother too 🙂 Those Tacos and dessert…YUM!!! Glad you had a great weekend <3
YAY! Hope you had a nice weekend, lady! 🙂
So much fun!!! Except for the boys making fun of me on the Bart back home for being a bad luck charm 😛 I’m so glad you all had an amazing time in Napa. It was awesome to meet your bro and Steph – they’re wonderful! Also, putting Maria Maria on my WC restaurant list…those tacos look amazing!! xx
hahah I know! My brother said the same thing. 🙂 And YES to Maria Maria — it’s a big place with some quality Mexican food. Thanks again for joining me, lady!!
The highlight of my weekend was the Blue Jays opening game on Sunday! 🙂
Sounds fun!! Hope the week is off to a great start for you, Victoria!
