Favorite things: Active and footwear
Well, hello weekend! I’m here and ready for you. How about you, my friends? This week has been incredibly full. In addition to teaching group fitness classes, working out, sleeping and working, I’ve been soaking up as much time as I can with my Mom. I even took the afternoon off yesterday to hit up a lovely tea place with her in Pleasanton, which was just fabulous. (Pleasanton is a very cute area, by the way!)
Because things have been busy, I’m keeping it short and sweet on the blog today, so let’s talk favorites …
This week’s “Favorite things”
Fashion: Another great delivery from Fabletics arrived to me last weekend. I got the Desi Tank and Angela Capri, and I love them both. They are soft, comfortable and breathable. I wore this outfit to teach BODYATTACK on Wednesday night, and it held up perfectly.
And even though there are tons of patterns and colors out there — well, quite frankly — I always fall back on all black. You just can’t go wrong. If you haven’t yet, check out Fabletics (referral link!!).
Footwear: People ask me all the time what kind of shoes they should be wearing for what workout. When it comes to weightlifting — well — go with flat shoes. And when it comes to conditioning and cardio, well — go with shoes that have cushioning and some lateral support. My friends at New Balance recently sent me the Vazee Pace, and I’m loving them.
They have a nice cushy feeling for jumping, support for side-to-side movements, and well — they look good in the neon. That’s all I need in a shoe. Thanks, NB! I definitely recommend these.

And from around the web worth checking out …
- Do you work in the corporate world? If so, please watch this hilarious video about jargon. I’m back in an office job, and I definitely relate. Ha!

That’s it! My Mom is here for the rest of the weekend, and we have a few more fun things in store. It’s been so wonderful having her around! Okay, hope you have an awesome weekend!

Questions of the day
What are you up to this weekend?
What’s something new you’ve found lately?
Yay love new workout clothes! Fabletics capris are one of my favorites. I make energy bites almost every week, and have been looking for new recipes I’ll need to check those out as a switch up from oats and pb. Have a great weekend with your mom!
I wish I made energy bites more. I should at least use my own recipe hehee. Have a great weekend, Patricia! Thanks!!
I have always wanted to do a tea service at a fun/fancy place! What a great date with your mom!
SO much food and SO much tea, Susie. Get yourself to a tea! 🙂 (And have a happy weekend too ehehhe!)
I loveeeeee that tank and pants from Fabletics. I’ve been wanting to order there for awhile but I’m such a shortie that I worry their pants wouldn’t fit me.
This weekend I’m doing double duty tomorrow with a yoga class in the morning and a Spin class afternoon. A Spin Instructor who was born with cerebral palsy is coming to guest teach at our gym and I couldn’t miss out on what’s bound to be a super inspiring class!
Hi Danielle! That’s so awesome! Wow! I hope you enjoy the class. I bet it will be very motivational to see in action. Have a great time!
Oh my gosh I’m obsessed with that whole outfit! I have a similar black tank that I love from Lulu buuut with this new birthing hips, it doesn’t quite fit! I have heard so many great things about Fabletics but I”m always so worried to steer away from my Lulu love!!! And I LOOOVE those shoes..I might just have to nab a pair 😉 Have you used them for weight training or just Attack/high intensity aerobics..I’m in need of a new pair of shoes sooo might have to go out and find them!
Have a great weekend!
Hi Fiona! I have only worn the shoes for cardio so far, which they work well for. I wouldn’t wear them for PUMP or weights because of the running curve on the bottom. They are so comfy! Hope you have a great weekend too!
I feel like there’s far too much black around me in NYC, but that top is adorable!
Hi Alyssa! I can totally understand that. Black is a city thing for sure. I happen to love it though. Have a great weekend, lady! 🙂
Ooh, those leggings are cute! 🙂 I really loved seeing that you and your mom got to go out to tea. 🙂 Tea is always so fun to do. It makes me feel really feminine. 🙂
It was so fun, Emily! Hope you’ve been having a wonderful week, my friend. 🙂
I should probably check out Fabletics, I’ve been hearing such good things about the brand. And that top is super cute!
Downtown Pleasanton has so many fun shops, and tea looks amazing! I remember going to high tea when I visited London, nothing makes you feel quite so lady-like as a legit tea service!
Hooray weekend!
Hi Emily! Hooray weekend is right. 🙂 And yes, I love doing teas. I also went to one in London when I was there studying abroad. Perhaps we should all institute a formal tea for fun more often even at our own homes? hahah
What a fun new workout outfit!!
Thanks, Dani! Hope you have a good weekend. Stay dry!
hahahaha i just watched that video and im dying its so true! Silly office life!
Enjoy your weekend–put your office work on the “back burner” 😀
Hi Heather! Glad you enjoyed that one. 🙂 I’m “tabling” work concerns until Monday. hahaha
