Favorite things: Swim, body, hair and a little bit more

Oh hey there, friends! How’s your week? Mine has been good. Work, gym, quick trip to L.A., work, gym and that pretty much brings me to now. This weekend, Dave’s parents are coming to visit us, and in addition to that, I’ve got high hopes of starting to learn the new choreography for the latest BODYATTACK release 92, which I’m teaching next week. If you’re celebrating Good Friday and Easter, I hope you enjoy. And to everyone else, have a fabulous weekend. But first, we favorite …

This week’s finds for “Favorite Things”

No need to think too much here, just a few things I’ve been loving lately …

My favorite fashion of the week

Who is ready for warmer weather? I know that I am. With the change of seasons comes the thought of pool days, beach trips — and if you’re lucky, maybe even a vacation. While I don’t have a vacation on the horizon, I do have a gorgeous new suit from Express …

There were plenty of patterns available, but of course, I went with all black. I got the Black Macrame Bikini Swim Bottom and the Black Macrame High Neck Halter.

If you’re looking for a new bathing suit, check out the new womens swimwear by Express. This suit fits like a glove and is definitely going to be my go-to as soon as it’s time to get out there. (Special thanks to my friends at Express for sending it my way.)

My favorite beauty item of the week

If you don’t have a beach vacation on the horizon, you can certainly take yourself back to your last one, when you slather on tropical-smelling body cream like this …

Because really, scented body lotion is a must for me. Every. Single. Day.

My Mom sent me this Maui-inspired scented body cream after Dave and I got back from our fantastic Hawaiian adventure last year, and I’ve been saving it. Well now that spring is here, I felt like it was time to revisit that vacation feeling, and I pulled this out. Even if the sea breeze is only in my head for now — this stuff sure smells so good!

My favorite accessory of the week

I like to invest in nice jeans, nice purses and nice workout wear. But when it comes to hair accessories — well, cheap is better. I always buy the same cotton headbands, and boy do they last. In addition to being colorful, these cost-effective hair-tamers are so useful …

Nothing fancy here folks, just a $5 pack of these beauties from Target

I especially enjoy these headbands for my early morning workouts when I know my hair is a total disaster. A headband and a bun instantly takes me from bed to gym. And if you get the 5-pack, you can throw these in the wash after each use and still have more in the drawer.

  1. Funny you are talking about swim suits and beach vacations and I currently am getting ready to head to the mountains for one last ski trip of the season! But I guess I sure do have a beach vacation of some sorts coming up in June and I could not be more excited to get outside and get some sun! With lots of sun screen of course I feel like my body hasn’t seen sun in quite some time!

  2. Oh, Bay Area natives will gladly remind you that “hella” is, well, a hella norcal term! And they won’t let you forget it 😉 I think it actually originated from East Bay/Oakland if you wanna get technical.

  3. WOOOO!! Thanks for participating chica bonita!! Just back and catching up, and am LOVING seeing the positive responses I received from profiling you guys. The blogger community can be such a positive environment. 🙂
