The best barre class playlist I’ve made lately (for your next workout)

Hey, friend! Today, I’m sharing the best barre class playlist that I’ve made recently. And this playlist is for everyone!

As a freestyle group fitness instructor at Life Time in Charlotte, I spend a ton of time looking for good music and creating playlists for my classes. I love to listen to music, and I love to find songs that stir up emotion and motivation. One of the comments I receive most from my group fitness students — especially in my barre classes — is about the music I’ve selected. And that compliment makes me so happy, because I truly care about creating a cohesive musical experience in every playlist. (I never use pre-made mixes/services, although those certainly are convenient.)

By the way, if the topic of playlist creation interests you, I wrote a whole blog post last year about how I create my playlists. And you can find that post here: How to create a playlist for a workout class + a barre class playlist.

This particular playlist below stood out to me, and I really wanted it to live on the blog. And even if you’re not a fitness instructor, I hope you enjoy listening to these songs as much as I have! Maybe you can use it as the soundtrack for your next workout?

Let’s get to it …

This playlist has a range of BPMs (beats per minute), probably between 126 to 140.

The BPMs are not consistent, and that’s because I choreograph song-by-song, with new moves/patterns in each and every song.

This playlist features a variety of genres, from pop to country to hip hop to EDM (electronic dance music). My personal favorite type of song to find is a country song remixed to an EDM beat. Love those, and I have a good one below.

This playlist runs just over 56 minutes, and I use it to teach a 1-hour class. I’ve doubled up the last song to extend it for the cooldown.

Also, I like to crossfade the songs by 8 seconds so they blend. And in Spotify, you do that by going to your Profile >> Settings and choosing your crossfade amount.

Disclaimer: Some of the songs in this playlist are explicit. Those songs are marked with an “E” — so skip over those if you have young ears around.

If you need a great playlist for your next workout, walk or house-cleaning session, click on the one below on Spotify and enjoy!
