Favorite things: Fitness fashion, food, pink leather and more

Another end of the week, another chance to check in with you and ramble away! This week was very busy over here. I worked at the new “day job,” I taught a BODYATTACK class on Monday night, I took a day-trip to L.A. to oversee a production shoot in a gym, I managed to work out four of five mornings, I wrote three blog posts, I ate a lot of good food, and I sat in traffic for far too many hours. How about you?

While the work-week tends to be a blur these days, I must say I never get a second to be bored. So time really flies. What’s in store for the weekend? Not a whole lot. Dave will be working quite a bit, and I’ve got zero plans as of now outside of a much-needed haircut.

This week’s finds for “Favorite Things”

A few unrelated — very unrelated — items I’ve been loving lately …

My favorite new workout top of the week

The last few weekends, I’ve gone out to look for regular clothes. And no matter what, I always seem to come home with another piece of workout wear. Well this is one of two on-sale items I picked up recently at Nordstrom Rack.

Nike workout tank by A Lady Goes West

Who says you can’t wear grey to work out? I love this loose cotton tank.

I love the back of this top, which is just a very thin strap that runs down the mid-back. I wore this to teach BODYATTACK on Monday night, and it moved very well. Good work, Nike

My favorite food of the week

From tanks to tuna. This particular favorite is totally my jam right now, and an unexpected one at that. I got a box of these flavored tuna and salmon creations from Starkist, and I’ve been devouring them with my lunch.

Tuna Creations favorite by A Lady Goes West

I never turn down salmon, especially when it doesn’t need to be cooked.

Oftentimes the hardest part about packing a lunch for work can be the protein, and these bags take care of that with nearly 15g of protein per single-serve pouch. I’d say the Lemon Dill Salmon Creation was the best one, but they are all delicious. I’ve been looking forward to them right around noon each day and will definitely be buying more. Thanks for sending, Starkist!

My favorite bag of the week

This pale-pink leather beauty is mine compliments of the husband. This was one of my Christmas presents, and somehow it hasn’t made it onto the favorites until March, although I’ve been using it and enjoying it. I love that there is the long strap and the short straps, so I can use both.

Michael Kors pink purse by A Lady Goes West

Michael Kors sure makes some good stuff. This leather satchel is perfection.

I’ve never had a purse this color, and I’m totally enjoying the change. It seems to go with everything. You know what my favorite part is about this bag? There is a separator inside it, so your belongings stay nice and neat on their own sides.

My favorite links of the week

Did you miss the latest on A Lady Goes West this week?

And from around the web worth checking out …

  • Have a couple minutes to kill? Watch the action in this tiny kitchen. I don’t know why, but this entertains me.
  • I seriously want everything on this list of sassy fitness products.

That’s all she wrote. See you later, my friends! Have a great weekend! I’ll check in on Instagram, if I have anything fun to report until we meet again.

  1. I love packaged tuna when I don’t have any grilled chicken prepped for the week. I haven’t tried the creations, but they sound delicious! And lovingggg that purse! I am typically a grey or black person, but light pink is the perfect neutral color. Hoping to enjoy some time outside this weekend and maybe a St. Patty’s day party with some Irish food. Have a great weekend!

  2. Ahh I am so excited to do nothing but spring clean and get ready for next week, hoping to get a lot of relaxing time! I love that tank! I need to start investing in some workout wear as much as I wear itoutside of work!

  3. Yum those tuna packages look good. have you been topping them on bread or a salad or something or just eating them straight up? haha!
Love that top–i try to buy cute workout clothes because it makes me want to workout! have a great weekend–hope you get some time to relax!

  4. When I don’t have leftover protein from the night before, I love packing flavored tuna in my lunch to add to a salad. I’ve never tried the salmon ones but I’ll definitely grab one if I ever see them!

Tonight our neighbors are having a party so we’ll be going there for a bit and tomorrow night we’re going to a Mexican themed dinner and Cards Against Humanity night at another friend’s place. It seems like all my friends like to roll with the Mexican theme … and I’m not complaining since it’s pretty much my favorite. We’re in charge of appies and are trying to figure out what to bring.

    Enjoy your weekend!

    1. Appies for Mexican? Well obviously guac. What about mini-shrimp/avo/cocktail bites over a chip? Hhahaa that sounds yummy. I LOVE Cards Against Humanity of course. Sounds like a great weekend, Catherine! ENJOY!!! 🙂

  5. Hey Ash! Loving the Nike workout top AND the pink Kors purse. The men did outstanding jobs on their Christmas presents this year 😉 Have a fantastic relaxing weekend!

  6. Love that tank!! That list of fitness things, hilarious, “Hakuna Masquata, it means nice booty”- LOL!

This weekend is a St Pattys parade in our neighborhood with festivities and what not along with lots of time outside. 🙂 Have a great weekend!

  7. This weekend they are dying the river green here in Chicago which is always fun. Super convenient is that I just go downstairs, walk outside, and the river is right there. Otherwise Idk that I would brave the crowds! I love tops like that. I may have to pop into the ol’ Rack and see if there’s some here!

  8. OH my gosh that bag is STUNNING! I was gifted a Michael Kors wallet as a bridesmaid gift ( I know nuuutsooooo) and two years later it’s still in great condition and my love of it has yet to falter!

We had a great week of play dates and gym dates here and the weather is finally starting to hit above zero so hoping to get OUT for some walks with the pup and baby this weekend!

I love those little packets of flavoured tuna. I went off fish when I was pregnant and haven’t really gotten back into it yet (doesn’t help that my husband hates it) so I need to start finding ways to add it back it, and you just reminded how!

    Have a great weekend!
