Favorite things: Good flavors, snacks, tanks and more
Don’t be jealous my friends, but guess where I’m going tonight? A Justin Bieber concert! That’s right. My girlfriends and I are pretty excited to see the Beebs in action at Oracle Arena in Oakland this evening. Other than that, the rest of my weekend is up in the air. How about yours?
This week’s finds for “Favorite Things”
No need to think too much here, just a few things I’ve been loving lately …
My favorite delivery of the week
If you love someone, send them a selection of nuts. Seriously. While this delivery of gourmet nuts and dried fruits didn’t come from a loved one, it was seriously appreciated by both Dave and me. Just look at it …
This beautiful display came with a big ribbon on it, and inside is organic mango, raw cashews, roasted mixed nuts, salted cashews and my personal favorite, Turkish figs.
I was pretty excited to receive this complimentary arrangement from Gourmet Nuts and Dried Fruits, which is a company started by a young guy in New Jersey. Not only do part of the proceeds go to charity, but you can choose your own selection of delicious nuts, seeds, brittles and more, which you get presented in a basket. Perhaps you know someone who loves a good nut sampler? I know I do. If so, be a pal and order one of these lovely trays from Gourmet Nuts and Dried Fruits. For real.
My favorite snack of the week
Did I tell you that I love Greek yogurt? Oh, you knew. Well I’m always up for trying new flavors and somehow I hadn’t jumped onto the coffee-flavored bandwagon until just recently …
Creamy, proteiny and only 160 calories. Yes, please. Good work, Chobani.
True story: I don’t drink coffee. I have nothing against it and will have some on a very rare occasion, but it’s not my caffeinated beverage of choice (green tea, for the win). But I do love the flavor, especially in yogurt form. It’s just good stuff.
My favorite workout top of the week
Another new top I purchased at Nordstrom Rack and have recently worn to teach BODYATTACK coming your way. I happen to love sleeveless muscle tanks, especially when they feature my favorite color combination like this one does, black and white …
This cotton beauty moves well and has a pretty cool longer-in-the-back fit.
There are so many fancy athletic brands out there, but I always come back to my tried, tested and classic Nike, especially for all of my high-intensity exercise.
My favorite beverages of the week
I don’t really enter giveaways on blogs (although I love to host them), but a few weeks ago I entered one on Erin’s blog and look what happened. I won this DAVIDsTEA Sweetheart Collection and mug … (Speaking of Erin, if you’ve never read her blog, you should. She’s got a pretty inspiring life story and shares some awesome healthy-living insight.)
Just listen to the flavors of these teas, which all smell DIVINE by the way: Dark Chocolate Delight, Peppermint Amour, Chocolate Macaroon, The Spice is Right, Cherry Blossom and more.
I happen to have one of these awesome Teavana Perfectea loose-leaf tea makers, which makes enjoying any kind of tea super easy. But if you don’t have one, you just need a very fine strainer to put the leaves in, and let them soak in boiled water for a few minutes. Flavored tea? All for it.

Questions of the day
What are you up to this weekend?
What’s something cool you’ve been loving lately?
YUM YUM, how delicious does that platter look! I would have been excited too. And I love that they also consider charity.
Hope you had a lovely week xxx
Thanks so much, Krissy! Same to you! Have a great day! 🙂
Love some Bieber. I make my husband listen to him all the time in the car (and he secretly sings along, lol). Have so much fun! Love Chobani seasonal flavors. I’m a big fan of the coffee as well and the maple and mixed berry also get a big thumbs up. Have a great weekend!
I haven’t tried the mixed berry or maple! Oh my! I need to get on that. And guys secretly love Bieber too, oh yes they do. 🙂 heeh Have a great weekend, Patricia!
I will leave you to the Beibs. I get more than what I want on the radio! But I’m sure it will be quite the experience. My question about the Chobani: is it caffienated? Did you get a buzz after?
Not a fan of Biebs? Come on, he’s got good music hehhee. As far as the yogurt, I don’t know if it is caffeinated, but I did NOT feel a buzz, and I’m sensitive to caffeine, so I’m guessing it has little to none. Happy weekend, Susie!
Well, you told me not to be, but I can’t help it….I am BEYOND jealous that you get to see the Biebs tonight! Enjoy!!!
Xoxo.
Okay, it’s hard not to be jealous heheh! I’m all about the Biebs. Have a great weekend, friend! 🙂
LOVE loose leaf tea! And those flavors sound YUMMY 😀 I wish I could eat dairy, they have so many fun flavors these days! And that fruit & nut sampler, YUM! Have fun this weekend <3
Oh man! Too bad you have to miss out on Greek yogurt – but there do seem to be some good non-dairy yogurts popping up. Have a nice weekend, lady! 🙂
Yes! i love that coffee yogurt too. Have you tried the limited edition chocolate one?! It’s so good!
No? Chocolate? I need to try! I tried the flip ones yesterday and didn’t really like them, because it wasn’t the 2 percent yogurt I don’t think. Thanks for the tip, Heather. Have a great weekend!
Thank you! Yes, i found them at my local grocery store and I’ve seen them at Target.
Good to know!
Love it! You’re going to watch my Canadian brother perform. It’ll be amazing no doubt! I also have that David’s tea collection, and really love the Honey, I Dew flavor. I tend to use the whole capsule in one cup, so it went fast =P
I’m actually drinking Tazo Zen green tea with almond milk as we speak which makes me think of you – I think you’re the only other person I’ve seen do that. So delish!! xx
Hi Jill! You know I always put almond milk in my tea heheh! YES! Hope all is well in your world, my friend! HAPPY Friday! 🙂
OHHH I’m so glad you loved the David’s tea (it’s a Canadian company) and I am obsessed. I have too many teas from there to count and spend WAY too much money …I often find it’s a nice ‘after dinner’ treat without actually eating my weight in cookies and chocolate. I hope you enjoy the teas!!! Love that new workout top, I am desperate need of new workout shirts but still waiting a little longer to make sure my body is staying put as is…or if it changes a little I don’t want to spend the $$ and then have things not fit 😉 Have a great weekend..
Oh yes, I’m sure the post-baby bod is constantly changing. That’s why loose tanks are the best! 🙂 Happy Friday, friend!
YES, enjoy the Justin Bieber concert! That sounds like so much fun. Loving the looks of that nuts plate, and you always find the best workout tops! Here’s to a great weekend, love!
Thank you, Heather! 🙂 Can’t wait to see Biebs dance!
Wow that selection of nuts look TERRIFIC! 🙂 Coffee blended Chobani sounds interesting.
Wouldn’t it be good to put the nuts and coffee-flavored yogurt together? hahah! 🙂 Have a great day, Emily!
I’ve been in love with Davids Tea lately, they have some amazing flavours, it makes me want to buy the whole store.
It smells SO good in the store. I could stay in there forever, and I LOVE the design too. 🙂 Happy Friday, Jen! Have a great weekend!
That tea set looks awesome! I love love love loose leaf tea, in my opinion it tastes so much better, but maybe because I take the time to measure it out, steep it correctly and use stove top boiling water.
I AM jealous! He is one great performer. HAVE FUN! I expect a full recap on Monday. HAHA!
You bet, Megan! Have an awesome weekend! 🙂
I am loving my new Contigo hot/cold travel mug. It keeps my tea hot for hours.
Those are handy!! Hope you have a nice weekend, Susan! 🙂
SO EXCITED FOR BIEBER TONIGHT! I hope we run into each other! 🙂
I’ll be in a suite upstairs, how about you?? Text me!!
Ooh that tea collection looks amazing! Tevana had a seasonal chocolate mint flavor this year and it was amazing! Happy Friday!
Yay for good-tasting tea! Hope you have a fun weekend, Alexa!
When I was in Chicago, I stopped at David’s Tea… THE BEST! I got Popcorn and Peanut Butter Cup – WHOOAAA BABY!
I know, so good! Happy Friday, GiGi!
TURKISH FIGS! seriously my weakness. I can’t even keep them around the house!
I’m a bigger date lover than Turkish figs to tell you the truth! Hehe happy weekend, Dani! Enjoy your cycle classes!
OMG have fun tonight girl! I am jealous 😉 I can just imagine how fun a Justin Bieber concert will be! Enjoy, and take lots of pics!
I sure will, Sarah! Hope you have a great weekend!
It’s about time someone came out with a coffee yogurt! 🙂 Thanks for sharing my Instagram post!
Hope all is well, Kelly!! Happy weekend!!
Um, I totally need someone to send me a sampler of nuts like that. And between the nuts and teas, you had quite the week in delicious mail 😉 Have a fabulous weekend!
I’d say so! Hope you get some fun food in the mail soon, Ellen! Have a nice weekend!
Hope the concert was good! I love fancy tea– that is right up my alley.
It was SUCH a good concert. Hope you’re having a nice weekend, Julie! 🙂
Oh good I’m glad you got it! You just reminded me that I have tea brewing. Whoops. I got sucked into blog reading since I need to catch up on like a week of posts! Eek!
