Finding your passion and some “fab” news

Hello, my friends! A very happy Thursday going out to you! In the wee, early morning hours today, Dave and I headed off to the airport to begin our extended-weekend trip to Florida for Memorial Day. During this trip, I will not only be standing up as a bridesmaid for one of my oldest and dearest friends, but Dave and I will also be celebrating our third wedding anniversary and spending time with family and friends. To say we are excited — well, I think that’s a given.

Now that we’re caught up on life, it’s time to talk about something cool …

Finding my passion and sharing it with others

I’ve got some news to share with you that I’ve been waiting to announce. But first, let me step back and explain why this is so important.

It took me a very long time to get to a place where I love what I am doing and feel like I am truly using my talents in my career and in my life. I’ve worked in a number of jobs in the corporate world and every single experience has given me the tools I need to be where I am today, whether or not I enjoyed doing it at the time.

Lately, I’ve been feeling extra grateful for the opportunities that I’ve had both through my fitness career, as well as through writing and blogging. Working at a new Orangetheory, teaching my Les Mills classes and running A Lady Goes West — well, those are all things that make me incredibly happy.

And because of what I’ve been doing, I’m proud to announce I’ve been named a Fabletics Master. Fabletics, as you may know, is a brand of athletic apparel founded by Kate Hudson, which is becoming incredibly popular. And Fabletics Masters are ordinary people who have become “extraordinary” through a love and passion for fitness.

Joining the ranks as a Fabletics Master

I’m one of about 100 fitness-loving folks from around the world, who have been chosen to join this group …

Fabletics Master

My role as a Fabletics Master is to host local fitness events, continue to share my love of healthy living and fitness with my community and represent the ideals of Fabletics, which as you can imagine, are basically right in line with how I live my life.

Looking around the bios of other Masters, I’m in pretty good company …

What do we all have in common? We work in fitness as trainers and instructors and we’re devoting our lives to helping others.

A little preview of my profile on the Fabletics Masters site.

And how about that first line from my bio?

It’s a totally true statement to say that group fitness changed Ashley Pitt’s life. In fact, Ashley got her start in the fitness industry years ago when one of her favorite instructors pulled her onto the stage while taking a class to help demonstrate some moves. It was the start of something beautiful, and today, Ashley is both a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, who also writes the popular healthy-living blog, A Lady Goes West, which she started after relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area from Central Florida.

Yes, group fitness did change my life.

It’s been a long road to get to where I am today (with a long road ahead to keep growing!). And for those of you out there, who have something you’re passionate about, I encourage you to spend a little more time going after it. You never know where you’ll end up!

Representing Fabletics in style

In addition to being excited about my role, I’m also pretty darn happy that I get to wear Fabletics clothing. Because in my line of work, I can never have enough workout gear. (I do, however, need more space in my dresser drawers and some help with the laundry.)

Me and Fabletics = a great match!

  5. Congratulations! You definitely deserve all the opportunities you are getting! I have to say I was working with Fabletics last year. They were sending me outfits and I adored them. Then they suddenly stopped communicating with me with no explanation. I was highly disappointed in this. I could only attribute it to the fact that I was injured and could not post as much on social media as I was not working out as much. I could only assume they have something against injured people which is not right. Again I love their clothing and I am so happy for you but I do think they have questionable morals. Please do not take it the wrong way just want to share my experience so perhaps you can share that with them in your role.

    1. Hi Megan, I’m terribly sorry to hear about your experience. I’m hoping that there was a miscommunication, but again, it’s terrible that you’ve not had a good thought about Fabletics in your mind based on what happened with you. I will tell you that the Masters program is not run by the PR team though. 🙁 And so far, I’ve been very happy with the Fabletics folks that I’m working with.

    1. Hi Sarah! Thanks, we’re looking forward to Florida sunshine! Hope you have an awesome long weekend (or at least I hope you have a day off??) 🙂
