Hey, my friends! How are you? Today, it’s all about fall fashion (and winter fashion too), because the weather is changing, and that means the wardrobe needs to change too.

Now, we know that I’m not a fashion expert by any means, and yes, you can usually find me in workout clothes. But over the last year, I’ve gotten a lot better about buying regular clothes and putting them on at least once a week (it was a rough year of repeating the same beat-up leggings all through 2020).

Over the summer, I shared a post about the 10 things I bought to wear during summer 2021, and you guys seemed to like it. So here I am doing a similar post for the fall and winter. Let’s get to the stuff, and these items have various price points for different budgets …

Seven things I’ve bought to wear during fall and winter 2021 (fall fashion picks)

Leather-like joggers

I saw these joggers in a Facebook ad and just had to have them. I signed up for the Spanx emails for a 10 percent off code, and I decided to pull the trigger, even though they are a little bit of a splurge. When these joggers came, they seemed quite heavy, and they came folded up in a big box, and I wasn’t so sure. In fact, I was skeptical. But, I put them on and was amazed at what they felt like and looked like on me. They are somewhat fitted in all the right places, then looser in the calf area, then they have a jogger elastic at the bottom of the calf. I love the way they look, and I can’t wait to wear these with sneakers or heels and a sweater throughout the colder season. I’m wearing a medium. Find these leather-like joggers here.

Faux-leather leggings 

These are not new. But they are a fall and winter essential, hands down. I’ve actually had these leggings for two years, so these are an older item, and they’ve successfully made it through two colder seasons. But they are still available, they are still in style, and they are still amazingly versatile. I’m wearing a medium, and these run small. They have a very fitted and high-waisted feel, and they are so darn flattering. Find these faux-leather leggings here.

Chunky sweaters

I love a chunky sweater. I like to pair longer chunky sweaters with my faux-leather leggings referenced above. And I get my sweaters from many different places. This year, I ordered quite a few chunky sweaters from Old Navy. I bought multiple sizes and ended up liking the fit of the size small in tall. Although the sleeves are a little long in the tall versions, the actual sweaters are longer, so they cover more when you wear them with leggings. I bought this sweater in two colors. Long-sleeve mock-neck sweater dress

I love a good sweater dress. It’s comfy, and it can be dressy or somewhat casual, depending on what you wear it with. I ordered this gorgeous belted sweater dress for events and activities this fall and winter. While the one I bought has low stock right now (geez things go quickly these days), there are some other great options, like this one (which is very well priced) and this one too. Matching jogger and hoodie leisure suit

I love my matching leisure suits. And site note: Brady loves his too, some of you may remember all the ones he wore his first couple of years. Speaking of matching suits, I wore a couple of Old Navy matching sets with shorts over the summer, and now that we’re into cooler weather, you’ll find me in matching sets with longer pants. Leather sneakers

I now have two pairs of leather sneakers, and they are so comfy and cute. I had wanted to buy a pair of Superga shoes for a while, and I recently finally ordered some. And even though they are white (they do come in black, which I may have to get one day), they are still totally wearable in the cooler months. That whole “no white after Labor Day” rule is long gone, my friends. I plan to wear these leather sneakers with my leather-like joggers and faux-leather leggings shown above. French terry romper

I featured this romper in a recent current faves post, because I wore it to the pumpkin patch with a denim jacket, and I loved it. It’s loose and soft, and I’m wearing a medium so that it stays loose, even after washing. This romper is one of those items you can throw on and feel cute, even though you’re technically wearing a onesie sweatsuit. I’m always down for comfort. Find the French terry romper here.

And those are some of the things I’m planning to wear over and over again the next few months, because you guys know I’m a major clothes repeater. I would definitely say that I’m much more likely to buy less items of better quality than more items of lesser quality, and that’s only so they last a long time and make it through more than one season. I’m hoping most of these fall fashion pieces do just that.

What’s still on my fall fashion shopping list

I’m still in the market for a few items this fall and winter to get me through. Here’s what I’ve got my eye on …

• Flannel jacket/shacket. I have a few long-sleeve flannel shirts that I’ve been wearing for years, but I’m looking for a good flannel jacket shirt, also known as a “shacket,” to wear with jeans and leggings. This is a great option.
• Leather booties. I have a couple pairs of leather boots and booties, but I need another one for more variety. I tried these ones on the other day and loved them (they were quite comfy), so I just may order them, once I decide on the color.
• Rain boots. I haven’t lived in a rainy climate in eight years, so I am not super equipped for it. I’m pretty sure I need some rain boots. I’m thinking these boots will do the trick, but I haven’t fully committed yet. Any recommendations?
