The best pieces from Carbon38 and a Carbon38 discount code

This post is all about the best pieces I’ve bought from Carbon38, and I’m also including a Carbon38 discount code so you can save! This post is not sponsored, but I’m including affiliate links, and I earn store credit when you use my Carbon38 discount code, so thanks for that.

Hi, my friends! How was your weekend? Mine was good! We did some house hunting and finally had our cars delivered to us from across the country — yay! Today, Dave starts his new job, Brady and I will explore our new city together, and later this week, we have a special visitor arriving.

Today, I’m talking about activewear. I know you have heard me mention Carbon38 time and time again, and it seemed like a good idea to do a full post on it.

So what is Carbon38? It’s a website where you can buy awesome women’s activewear, accessories and street wear. Carbon38 was started about nine years ago by a woman who saw the need for a place to buy different clothing to “feel powerful, stylish and feminine.” And the second you go to the site, you’ll see that she has succeeded in that mission. Carbon38 curates clothing from other brands, and there is also a Carbon38 brand, which is really well priced. And the clothes are so cute.

What I like about Carbon38 is that the pieces are totally different from what you see in the stores. I was originally introduced to Carbon38 on Instagram. One of my friends kept wearing the cutest activewear sets that were so much more fashionable than what I had been wearing. I was intrigued. I finally went to the Carbon38 website just under a year ago and was amazed at what I found. That’s when I placed my first order.

The reason for this post is because there’s a lot to choose from on the site. And it can be overwhelming at first. There are some super high-end designer items that are pricey. But there are also some reasonably priced items that are functional and fashionable and perform great for many types of workouts. I’ve placed seven orders over the last few months and have tried many brands. Today, I’m sharing my absolute favorite pieces …

The best pieces from Carbon38 and a Carbon38 discount code by A Lady Goes West in January 2021

1. Carbon38 Takara Shine High-Rise 7/8 Leggings

The most fashionable piece of activewear ever. Great for streetwear or low-impact workouts.

Some of my favorite pieces from the Carbon38 site are from the Carbon38 brand. The number-one item that brings most people to Carbon38 is the Takara Shine high-waisted leggings. This was the first item I ordered as well, along with the matching sports bra. Here’s what you should know about the Takara Shine leggings. They are not compression and are not all that supportive. However, they fit like a glove, they are incredibly comfortable, they stay up during your workout with the super-wide waistband, and they run small. And they are fabulous. Completely fabulous, like a second skin. I order a small in this style leggings, but I order a medium in most of the other leggings. Shop the Takara Shine High-Rise 7/8 Leggings here. They also come in mid-rise and full-length, if you prefer.

2. Carbon38 Takara Shine Action Bra 2.0

Great for any type of workout, except perhaps something super high-impact with a lot of jumping.

This bra is one of my favorite sports bras, because it has plenty of support, but it’s not hard to get on and off, which is the case for a lot of sports bras with a tight fit. I wear a small in this style, and it is enough support for nearly any workout. There are removable pads, and a low neckline, so it’s super flattering. Shop the Carbon38 Takara Shine Action Bra 2.0 here.

3. Carbon38 Cloud Compression High-Rise 7/8 Leggings

Perfect for any type of workout, even high intensity or high-impact, and has pockets.

While the Takara Shine leggings are like a second-skin without support, the Carbon38 Cloud Compression leggings are a buttery-soft-hold-you-in legging that seems comfy enough to wear as pajamas, but it’ll also be enough for a tough workout. And there are pockets. I have these leggings in both red and blue with the matching Cloud Compression tanks and bras. I absolutely love these leggings. Super slimming, and they fit true to size. I wear a medium in these leggings. Shop the Carbon38 Cloud Compression High-Rise 7/8 Leggings here.

4. Carbon38 Cloud Compression Action Bra 2.0

Great for any type of workout, including high-intensity.

Even though this bra has the same style as the Takara Shine Action Bra 2.0 from above, the Cloud Compression fabric makes it all that much more supportive. You still get the removable pads and the low-neck look, but it really holds you in. I wear a small in this style and can wear it for all types of workouts, even jumping. Shop the Carbon38 Cloud Compression Action Bra 2.0 here.

5. Carbon38 Crop Tank

The feels-like-you’re-not-wearing-a-shirt for all activities.

This crop tank from the Carbon38 line was one of my first purchases from the site, and I liked it so much, I bought it in another color shortly thereafter. It’s a sleeveless crop tank, but it’s not so cropped that it exposes your tummy, as long as you pair it with high-waisted leggings. I think this type of shirt probably works well on everyone. The fabric is light, it washes up well, and it’s breathable. I wear a small in this top. Shop the Carbon38 Crop Tank here.

6. Beach Riot Piper Leggings

The most flattering body-hugging animal print leggings ever, which you can also work out in.

This is probably my most-asked-about piece of clothing that I own. These Beach Riot brand Piper Leggings are heavenly. They are super high-waisted, the fabric is breathable, and the patterns are great. I have the leopard and the watercolor leopard, and I just feel good when I put them both on. I wear a medium in the Piper Leggings, and I think they hold up great for all types of workouts. Shop the Beach Riot Piper Leggings here.

7. Stance No-Show Socks

Some seriously high-quality socks that will hide within your sneakers.

I know that socks seem like a really boring purchase from a fashionable activewear site, but these Stance socks are worth a mention. Dave has talked about Stance socks for a long time, so when I saw that this brand had women’s socks, I went for them. They are the best no-show socks ever, and they stay in place pretty well. They also have high-quality elastic and a soft-cotton feel. Love ’em. Shop the Stance No-Show Socks here.

Two honorable mentions from the Carbon38 site …

I love this Alo Yoga Cover Tank, which is a little cropped and has a bunched detail in the front. I have it in two colors in a size small. It’s got plenty of coverage, and it’s super comfy.

I had my eye on this Alo Yoga Foxy Sherpa Jacket for a while before I finally pulled the trigger, and I’m so glad I did. I wore it everyday this past weekend, and it keeps me so warm and just feels so fun.

A few things I didn’t love from the Carbon38 site …

Okay, let’s be honest. I have returned several things to Carbon38, and they are as follows: The Carbon38 ribbed set didn’t fit well on me, and the waistband pinched in, even though the fabric felt great. I tried the ribbed leggings and top, and neither were flattering. Because you can do free returns, I sent them back.

I also ordered the Carbon38 Takara Shine Cami Bra, and it has no support whatsoever and is hard to put on. I actually kept it, but have not worn it for workouts — wouldn’t recommend it.

And that concludes my list of the best pieces from Carbon38! Thanks for checking it out! Have a wonderful day!
