Holiday gift guide for ladies

December 1, 2020 By Ashley Leave a Comment

Hey, my friends! How was your Thanksgiving? I’m back today with another holiday gift guide, and these gifts are for the ladies. I have a few of these things already, or I have my eye on them. We’ve got clothes, fitness equipment, beauty products and much more, with a range of prices too. Let’s get into the gifts …

Holiday gift guide for ladies

Holiday gift guide for ladies by A Lady Goes West

Theragun percussive massage gun

I put this percussive massage gun on my gift guide for guys, and it deserves a place here too, because everyone can get a benefit from this thing. There’s a big professional one and a small on-the-go one, and these are great for a fit gal who works out a lot and needs some help with recovery. You can use a Theragun on yourself without the help of others too. Shop the Theragun here.

Lululemon reversible 5mm yoga mat

I used to have one of these 5mm Lululemon yoga mats, and I miss it dearly and need a new one, especially with the cool designs that they have out now. There are a few reasons to get a thick mat: #1 is because it is better padding so that you don’t feel pain in your knees or tailbone from moves on the ground, and #2 is because a thick mat doesn’t move around when you work out. My current yoga mat gets all bundled up when I’m teaching my virtual classes, and that’s just not good. Shop the Lululemon reversible 5mm yoga mat here.

Beautycounter All Bright vitamin C serum

This is one of the most popular Beautycounter products that debuted this year, and it’s such a treat. It’s a daytime treatment that smells amazing, gives your skin a glow, and over time, when you use it, it corrects and improves dark spots and skin discolorations. Shop the All Bright vitamin C serum here.

Dyson hair dryer and hair tools

I’ve put the Dyson hair dryer on my gift guides three years in a row, and that’s because this is the best hair dryer ever. I’ve had mine for about a year. The technology and design helps you to get your hair dry faster than any other dryer. Now, Dyson also has some other hair tools that I’d love to get my hands on, including the new straightener and the air curler too. Shop the Dyson hair dryer and other hair tools here.

Dr. Scholl’s slip-on sneakers

These shoes are so comfy! I have two pairs of Dr. Scholl’s shoes, and they feel like you are walking on air. The good thing about a slip-on shoe is that you can just slip it on, and you don’t even have to lean down to situate it. I feel like that level of convenience makes me wear these cute sneakers several times a week. Shop the Dr. Scholl’s slip-on sneakers here.

Alo Yoga sherpa puffer jacket

I’m so glad that sherpa-style jackets are still in style this year, because I can’t get enough of them. I have a couple from last year that I’ve recently been able to pull out now that our temperatures have dropped. Sherpa is soft, keeps you warm, and just looks so cozy too. I just ordered this cool Alo Yoga jacket from Carbon38 (using my code ASHLEYPITT for a discount), and I’m in love. This sherpa jacket from Athleta is a little bit cheaper, but looks just as cute. Shop the Alo Yoga sherpa jacket here.

Bombas tie-dye sock set

I’ve had a couple of pairs of this brand of sock, and boy they are high-quality socks. You can wear them around the house to keep your feet warm, or you can wear them out and about with sneakers or boots. I’m all about the tie-dye pattern of this particular set of four too. But if you don’t like tie-dye, there are other designs too, like these. And the best part, with every Bombas sock purchase made, Bombas donates a pair of socks to someone in need in a homeless shelter. Love that. Shop the Bombas tie-dye sock set here.

Beats Solo3 wireless headphones

These are the BEST headphones. But beware, if you have a crazy toddler who gets a hold of them, they may break. Mine are no longer under warranty, so I have them taped up, and they still work. But these headphones have the best sound, can be connected to your phone via bluetooth and keep outside sound out too. I use mine every morning for my meditation and sometimes when folding laundry and listening to a podcast. Shop the Beats solo3 wireless headphones here.

Barefoot Dreams CozyChic slippers

If you’ve never felt a Barefoot Dreams blanket, sweater or robe, then you are missing out on some soft luxury and bliss. I have a sweater from this brand, and I’ve had my eye on some slippers or pajamas too, made from the same type of plush. You really can’t go wrong with anything from this line as a gift. Shop the Barefoot Dreams CozyChic slippers here.

Papier 2021 planner

I know that many of us had to cross a lot of things off in our 2020 planners, but maybe 2021 will be different. I love a good-looking planner that you can use every day for your short-term to-dos and long-term goals too. I’m loving almost every style of planner on the Papier site. Shop the Papier 2021 planners here.

Anthropologie knotted headbands

I used to be the headband queen in my 20s, but I rarely wear them any longer, except for working out. I’m totally into the knotted headband trend that is going around right now. And Anthropologie has a lot of super cute ones that can be casual enough for a Zoom call or nice enough to dress up to go out. Shop the Anthropologie knotted headbands here.

Other gift ideas …

  • Anything personalized from Mark & Graham, because they have the classiest stuff.
  • Someone recently told me about AirBnb online experiences, where you can find cooking classes, craft classes and all sorts of fun things that you can safely do from your own home online. I haven’t done any of these, but think they would make an excellent gift.
  • Stitch Fix or Trunk Club monthly clothing gift cards are always welcome.
  • Wine subscriptions! Yes to this! I’ve tried Dry Farm Wines, which was such a fun gift, and there are many more good ones out there.

And that’s my list! Thanks for visiting the blog today. Happy shopping!

The latest on Instagram

Exactly twelve years ago today, I spotted Dave acr Exactly twelve years ago today, I spotted Dave across the bar in Orlando and decided to chat him up. And really, the rest is history, and boy am I glad I made that decision that day. We celebrated today by retrieving our cars that finally made it across the country and returning our rental car. Here’s to making the first move, because sometimes it totally pays off! ❤️
Hi, I'm Ashley Pitt, formerly Ashley Pinder, or AP Hi, I'm Ashley Pitt, formerly Ashley Pinder, or APin or APinder, as my friends used to call me. It's been a long time since I introduced myself here on IG. And even though most of you know a lot about me, some of you don't. So here's a quick download (paired with a sequence of photos that took place yesterday):

-I was born and raised in Florida, I spent the last eight years in the San Francisco Bay Area in California, and I just moved with my little family to Charlotte, North Carolina one week ago.
-I've been a fitness instructor for 11 years, and I started out teaching Les Mills BODYPUMP as a side hobby while I held down a job at a public relations agency in Orlando. By the way, I never imagined I'd leave the corporate world behind, but I'm so glad I did. And now I work for myself with fitness, blogging and Beautycounter as my full-time gigs, in addition to momming, of course.
-I haven't taught an in-person fitness class in 10 months, but I teach virtual classes every week, and I absolutely love it. Send me a DM if you want to work out with me!
-Yes, I'm a mom. But I had a hard time getting pregnant while struggling with hypothalamic amenorrhea. With a few lifestyle changes, I was able to recover, and because of that experience, I've adopted a "no extremes" motto when it comes to food and exercise. Now I have one 3-year-old curly-haired son named Brady, and I have a small fluffy dog named Rudy, and they are the cutest.
-I started my blog, A Lady Goes West, more than 8 years ago, and I write new blog posts every Tuesday and Friday. If you've never read it yet, I'd love to have you come on over.
-Here on my IG profile, you can expect some real talk about wellness, mom life, moving to Charlotte, fitness and all of that good stuff. I don't track macros, I don't create fancy recipes, and I don't do anything D-I-Y, but I still hope to connect with you and add some positive value to your feed. Thanks for being here!
Greetings from Charlotte, North Carolina! We’re Greetings from Charlotte, North Carolina! We’re just finishing up day four of our moving-back-east adventure, and so far so good. Although the planner in me does look forward to some more certainty, we’re enjoying the fun of this transitional time as we look for a house and find our way in a new city. It definitely feels like we are just temporary visitors right now, which is a feeling I felt when we first landed in San Francisco. But that’s just part of the beauty of moving. And by the way, you’ll see me repeating clothes for a bit until our stuff makes its cross-country arrival, so let me introduce you to this outfit:
-Jacket is @fabletics
-Scarf is @ragandbone
-Leggings are @caliabycarrie
-Shoes are @drschollsshoes
-Shades are @vincecamuto
-Brady’s wearing all @oldnavy with some @hunterboots.
Here’s to starting our first full week in the Queen City! Have a good one, friends.
Peace out, California. This lady who went west is Peace out, California. This lady who went west is officially heading back east. Today, we closed on the sale of our home, the movers drove off with our stuff, and we ended an 8-year-and-3-month adventure in the San Francisco Bay Area. What a ride it has been, full of amazing moments, great memories, tough situations, so much learning and even more growing into who we are today. We’re heading to North Carolina with clear eyes and full hearts — so you know what that means.
.
By the way, I wrote a post about my best memories from the last eight years, which is on A Lady Goes West right now, if you want to check it out! See you soon from the Eastern time zone!
So many things were tough for us in 2020, but boy So many things were tough for us in 2020, but boy am I glad we went through it all together. The highlight of the year was - by far - time spent with my little family. And we’re looking ahead to the big changes we have in store, with one-way tickets booked out of California next week. Happy New Year, friends! Here’s to change in 2021! 🎉🥂😍
Hands up in the air if you’re ready for a new ye Hands up in the air if you’re ready for a new year? While we know things don’t drastically change just because the date says 2021 instead of 2020, there is some power in possessing a more positive mindset and having your eyes wide open for more good ahead so you can accept it as it comes. Let’s be honest: This year has had some major ups and downs, and I’m definitely ready to embrace change, but I also know that change takes time and I’ve got to keep pushing for it, even if it doesn’t happen instantly.
.
Speaking of 2020, today I published the final post of the year on A Lady Goes West with a raw look at a year in review both personal and professional, so head on over if you’re interested in that.
.
And finally, this detailed-back bra is from @caliabycarrie and I’m loving it. It’s the Made to Move Strappy Back, and I have it in a ton of colors. #caliabycarrie #ad
