And so it begins

I’m sitting on the floor as I type because there is no longer a desk or a chair in condo 1215.  We’re moving and grooving, and as it goes with life, the timing of getting rid of furniture that won’t fit into our new place while still living in our current place has some gaps.

I knew I wanted to start a blog to keep track of our California experiences.  But that’s not the only reason I wanted to start a blog.  It’s something I’ve been meaning to do for quite some time.  I’m one of those people with a lot of thoughts, a lot of opinions and the need to share.

Here we go.

A cross-country move away from friends and family is the impetus for a public-facing blog* by one Ashley Suzanne Pitt (formerly Pinder).

I already know my challenges when it comes to blogging:  Keeping it short.  Staying on topic.

Now that we’ve got that out in the open, please know that I am very much aware of the effective and standard methods of blogging, as well as how to create and maintain a rich-content site that is both engaging and interactive.  I can’t promise that’s what you’ll get here.  In fact, I can already tell this here little blog might turn into something that looks more like a college-student travel journal … but stay with me.  Unlike targeted blogs with a business goal, my blog is for me.  So that’s the topic.  I guess that gets rid of one of my challenges right off the bat.  SCORE.

Good news for you: You’re bound to find some great photos of the Bay Area on this blog at the minimum.  And, you’re bound to feel very comfortable in your own life when comparing it to the unknowns I (we) am (are) about to encounter.

Okay … why don’t you go ahead and bookmark this page right now?

* Full disclosure.  This is not my first personal blog.  Only a handful of people were permitted to read my first foray into online musings, as I wrote a “professional-passion-seeking” blog of sorts for two short months.  While there is some amazing content on that site, I never put my picture or name on it, nor did I share it.  It was a great place to start and it certainly let me know that I’m a blogger at heart and need to jump in.  Let’s jump!
