The best gifts for Mother’s Day 2021

This post about the best gifts for Mother’s Day 2021 was fun to put together, because I felt like I was your personal shopper when doing it. Yes, Mother’s Day is coming up Sunday, May 9 in the U.S.!

Hello, my friends! I hope you had a nice weekend. How are we already into the last week of April this year? I think we can all agree that 2020 went by at a snail’s pace, and now all of a sudden, 2021 is flying. In less than two weeks, it’s Mother’s Day. And hopefully there’s a mother in your life worth celebrating.

If you’re a momma hoping for a gift, you can casually pass along this link to those who need to read it.

These gift ideas are not sponsored at all, but many of them I have or I want. There are affiliate links included.

Unique gifts

Flower subscription by Bouqs

Talk about something that a mom probably wouldn’t buy for herself — regular fresh flowers. While I have never tried this service, I’ve heard good things. And who wouldn’t want to brighten up their home with shipments of real flowers every month. Shop the Bouqs flower delivery options here.

Coffee subscription by MistoBox

I shared this idea in my gift guide last year, because it’s a good one worth mentioning again. I bought Dave this as a gift once, and he enjoyed getting shipments of fancy coffee to the door every month. Plus, it’s an easy last-minute idea, if you’re in a pinch for something different. Shop the MistoBox delivery options here.

Accessories and jewelry

Monogrammed leather tassel pouch by Mark & Graham

Have you ever shopped from Mark & Graham? Literally, everything on the site would make a great gift, and you still have time to personalize what you get with expedited shipping. This tassel pouch is great for moms to put their phones, keys and credit cards in, and then transfer it from bag to bag or use it alone (moms do a lot of bag transferring, by the way). I also think this travel cosmetics case is amazing, but not as practical. Shop the leather tassel pouch here.

Mom necklace by Kendra Scott

This adorable dainty necklace that says “Mom” with a little heart is totally gift-worthy. I have a lot of stuff from Kendra Scott, and although it’s not fine jewelry, it’s still good quality. Shop the necklace here.

Love gemstone bracelet by Gorjana

This dainty bracelet is so cute, and there’s meaning behind the gemstone too. I have some jewelry from Gorjana (and I even met Gorjana herself at her store opening in Walnut Creek), and it’s really nice stuff. Shop the bracelet here.

Leather jewelry travel box by Pottery Barn

Who doesn’t love a personalized item? And maybe the mom in your life may actually have somewhere to go later this year. These cute leather jewelry travel boxes are super gift worthy. Shop the jewelry box here.

Sea bag by Sea Bags Maine

I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned my Sea Bag on the blog, but I’ve had it for 10 years. In fact, I bought it in Portland, Maine on a trip that Dave and I took together, which is the same trip where we got engaged on Peak’s Island, Maine. Sea Bags are bags made from real sails from a sailboat, and they are so cool. I use my Sea Bag every single summer, and that thing still looks new and beautiful. It’s an investment, but you won’t find ANYTHING like it in stores, and I think that always makes a great gift. Shop the Sea Bags here.

AirPod case by Kate Spade

A lot of mommas have AirPods, and a lot of mommas have trouble keeping track of them. I am very organized and never lose anything, yet I’m always wondering where I last stored my AirPods, and I’m on my second pair. I don’t know why I’ve never thought to get a cute case before to keep them safe and perhaps connected to my keys. Kate Spade has some great ones at Target. Shop the AirPod case here.

Fashion and clothing

Cute pajama sets by Anthropologie and Nordstrom

Now that we’ve all spent much of the last year of our lives at home, I think we can all place some more importance on house clothes and pajamas. Cute pajamas just feel good. And there are some great short pajama sets out there, weather appropriate for the season. I love the look of these. But this festive set is great too, and it even comes with a sleep mask — what an amazing gift. This set is also a good one.

Jack flip flops by Jack Rogers

When a style of shoe has been around for more than a decade and still looks good, you know it’s a worthy investment. I’ve had my eye on this brand of flip flop for years and never bought them. But they come in so many colors and are supposed to be super durable. What a great gift. Shop the flip flops here.

You flip flops by Havaianas

This is another brand of casual flip-flops that has withstood the test of time. And there are so many styles to choose from, and I just ordered a pair for summer. Get a momma in your life some super cute and affordable flops this year, and she’ll be ready for warmer weather. Shop the flip flops here.

Personal care

Airwrap Styler by Dyson

This popular hair tool is consistently out of stock since its debut, and I was lucky enough to get one for Christmas from Dave. I got the complete set, with the smoothing hair brush and the air curlers, and this thing is like magic. It completely styles damp hair with nothing but air. You can do salon-quality curls, stick straight strands and much more, and because of the special Dyson technology, your hair doesn’t get as damaged. This is a total splurge, but any hair item from Dyson is such a great gift. Shop the styler here.

Sugarbuff Body Polish by Beautycounter

This exfoliating body polish is so luxurious, and it was recently reformulated and repackaged. And it’s a gift that a mom in your life is sure to love. Make sure you choose next day shipping to get it in time. Shop the body polish here.

Safe fragrance by Pacifica

I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned Pacifica perfume a million times, and that’s because it smells so good and is so affordable. Even though I used to be obsessed with fancy perfumes, once I learned that the term “fragrance” was totally unregulated, I decided it was time to switch to safer. Pacific has some swoon-worthy safer fragrances made with better ingredients, and these make a great gift. I’m all about the vanilla scent. You can find these at Target, Sephora or order from Amazon. Shop the vanilla perfume here.

Luminous Hydration Body Oil by Beautycounter

This is another delicious body product that works well as a gift. This oil is super hydrating, smells amazing and conditions the skin without leaving it greasy. Shop the body oil here.

  1. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my Sea bag! I think it’s been about 10 years for me as well.
So durable! Replaced my Le Sports Sac which I had for probably 20 years!

Also, have you ever shared your engagement story? I don’t think I knew you got engaged in Maine!

I am not a Jack Rogers fan. I understand the beauty of breaking in a shoe and then wearing it for decades but I have never been able to break in Jacks…however I do love me Saltwater Sandals!

    1. Hi Sabrina! That’s great you have a Sea Bag too — they are so special. And I haven’t ever written about our engagement because it happened a couple years before I started blogging. But Dave grew up in Maine, and he always wanted to take me there — we stayed on Peak’s Island and got engaged on the beach! 🙂 You’ve scared me with the Jack Rogers … I still want them though ahhaa, and now I need to check out Saltwater Sandals. All this talk makes me want a beach vacation!
