The best Mother’s Day gifts for 2023 coming your way!
Hi, friend! I love putting together gift guides, and I jump at the chance to do one for this particular group of gift recipients … moms!
Mother’s Day is coming up in the U.S. in just a little more than three weeks on Sunday, May 14th. And today, I’m sharing some awesome gifts, of varying price points, for a great mom in your life. If you’re a mom yourself, feel free to pass this post on to someone who is shopping for you.
By the way, this gift guide is not sponsored, but I definitely want or already have all of these items. I’m using affiliate links, and if you shop through my links, I get a little credit, so thanks for that.
Let’s get to the best Mother’s Day gifts for 2023 …
The best Mother’s Day gifts for 2023
Here we go …
Home and life
Okay, I knew that Oprah products existed, but I didn’t know this type of Oprah product existed. This would make an awesome gift for a mom who is into this type of thing. It’s a box of 365 graphically designed cards with inspiring messages on them, one for each day of the year. My mom sent me some little inspiring cards last year in a vase, and I loved opening one a day for a little boost of positivity (and I shared several of those messages on the blog too). This box of cards from Oprah is one of those items you don’t know you’ll enjoy until you have it in your life. Shop the daily inspiration cards from Oprah here.
I’ve seen this heart-shaped photo snapshot piece from Minted as an ad on social media, and it looks so cool. You choose a bunch of photos and upload them to personalize the heart. I think a personalized gift is always super special for a mom. This one is a splurge, and it will take some time to put together, but it’ll be one of those wall hangings you’ll/she’ll never want to take down. Shop the Minted heart snapshot photo mix here.
Fashion and accessories
Why wear a single-strand necklace, when you can wear a double? I love the layered look, and this dainty necklace is the perfect sweet gift for a mom with a heart pendant. It comes in three metal colors, and the price is right. Shop the Kendra Scott multi-strand heart necklace here.
I bought myself this super simple and light hat a few weeks ago, and I’ve had it on a ton. Moms love to wear hats to cover dirty hair, you know? This hat is light, adjustable, comfy and comes in many colors. I think black is the most versatile. Do you know a mom who is always running around in casual clothes? This hat is a great addition to her casual wardrobe, because it is to mine too. Shop the Lululemon Fast and Free hat.
Once again, personalized items make the sweetest and most thoughtful gifts. But they also take some time. If you’re thinking of getting a mom in your life something engraved, you should probably order it a couple weeks in advance. I love the look of this dainty bracelet with a plate where you can engrave a saying or name. Shop the Gorjana engravable plate bracelet here.
I’ve had my eye on a pair of these fancy leather sneakers for a long time. I want the ones with the rose gold letters and the velcro close. These are a total splurge, but if you know a sporty and stylish mom who deserves a great pair of shoes, these are the brand. Shop the Veja Recife metallic leather sneakers here. (And here’s a more understated style as well.)
I have so many bags from this awesome brand, MZ Wallace, and they are affordable, high-quality, and they have so much variety. I have a backpack, a big tote bag (which I use most days for all of my gym stuff, and I also use for overnight trips), a pouch/clutch and a medium crossbody, and I’m always adding to my collection. While moms often have big bags/purses for everyday, it’s fun to have some smaller cute bags, and this pearly white metallic crossbody purse with a chain is so perfect for spring and summer. Shop the metallic crossbody purse here.
Even though I’m currently wearing some smaller wire-frame sunglasses, I love a pair of chunky plastic sunglasses. I’ve had a couple pairs of this brand, Quay, and they are really good, and are always reasonably priced too. I think square-framed glasses are super cute, and they cover up the eyes nicely on a sunny pool day. These red ones would make a great gift. Shop the Quay big square sunglasses here.
I used to wear old t-shirts and basketball shorts to sleep in until a few years ago, when I bought some pajama sets. Now, I almost always only wear pajama sets. And I’m not buying anything fancy, but it feels good to have cuter/comfier/appropriate sleepwear. While I don’t have anything as nice as this satin set, I absolutely love the look of the more-cropped button-up top and shorts. This would make such a nice gift for a mom who needs to upgrade her sleepwear. Shop the Free People cute satin pajama shorts set here.
Fitness and health
I mean, I just wrote a whole blog post about these high-waisted black leggings, because I love them so much. These leggings are good for athleisure or for tough workouts. They run a tiny bit big, and I’m wearing both a small and a medium comfortably. I’m loving this brand of clothing so much, and I think anything from the site would make a great gift for a mom who likes to be comfy or work out. Shop the Vuori Daily Pocket Legging here.
Obviously, I had to put the Stanley cup on my gift guide, because I’ve had mine now for five months, and it’s the best cup ever. These are pricey, so they are definitely gift worthy. I like the 40-ounce tumbler, and it does both hot and cold, and it’s dishwasher safe too. It’s a whole vibe. Get a mom in your life one of these special cups if she needs a great vehicle for staying hydrated. And yes, this cup fits in a standard cupholder too. Shop the Stanley 40-ounce tumbler here.
If you’re shopping for a fitness-minded mom who likes to do strength training or cross-training (or group fitness classes), these Reebok Nano X3 sneakers are the very best. They are flat, they provide lateral support, and they are perfect for tough workouts. (But please note: These are not running shoes.) I’ve been wearing the Reebok Nano sneaker for every iteration (X3 is the third iteration), and I’ve had maybe seven pairs in the last few years. I’ve also turned on many of my class participants to this shoe, and they all love it. This makes a great gift for a fit mom. Shop the Reebok Nano X3 training sneakers here.
